The roots of the company credited with rethinking the traditional model of global outsourcing reach back to the early days of the Information Age and worldwide competition. IOS was organized initially as a data services provider. Through corporate restructuring, global acquisitions, strategic alignments and the application of technology, the company's scope of operations dramatically increased.

By the 21st century, IOS had been shaped into an entirely new corporate entity. In the process, concurrent initiatives created inherent efficiencies and cost reductions that gave rise to a new business model for supply chain structure and outsourcing management – Laborgistics®.

IOS analysis showed that traditional outsourcing partnerships were inherently imbalanced and burdened with superfluous management structures that failed to add value to the outsourcing process. Based almost exclusively on rapid cost reduction, these relationships lacked broader, strategic underpinnings and offered little prospects for long-term viability. In their wake, failed outsourcing ventures had a destructive effect on corporate finances, employment and the economies of nations.

Laborgistics methodology realizes long-term productivity gains and cost reduction through consolidation of management, more effective organization of global labor and more efficient supply chain structures. Unique Laborgistics management technologies bridge a global sourcing network with worldwide production and distribution centers, all unified under the codes of international quality standards: ISO 9001, SAS 70, USFDA, HACCP, U.S. Department of Defense certifications, Homeland Security certifications and the principles of Six Sigma. With this unique structure, IOS presents a singular channel for comprehensive management of labor and supply chain, unfettered by the weaknesses of the traditional outsourcing model. Laborgistics brings together people and technologies to provide a world of solutions for contemporary business and manufacturing.

With Laborgistics, IOS has, in essence, created a new system of "lean management" that offers significant cost controls and supply chain enhancement to myriad companies worldwide. In practice at IOS, Laborgistics is presented in two primary service categories: Contract Manufacturing and Data Services. This operational structure reflects the duality of the contemporary global economy and establishes clear entrées into Laborgistics for customers in all industries, from manufacturing to financial services.

In the emerging age of global hypercompetition, the waning of the traditional outsourcing model and increasing reliance on vastly extended supply chains, Laborgistics promises to bring a new dimension of management solutions to the complexities of worldwide manufacturing and service sector economics.
