IOSInternational Outsourcing Services traces its history to the earliest days of globalized trade and information services. Bruce Furr, a graduate of Indiana University Kelley School of Business, founded the company's principal antecedent, Indiana Data, in 1961. The company was initially organized as a data services provider, focusing on the consumer products industry. In 1997, the company merged with North American Data Processors, LLC, to form International Data.
Through corporate restructuring, global acquisitions, strategic alignments and the application of technology, the company's scope of operations dramatically increased, and a new core competency began to emerge: the application of an evolved management model to a broad scope of service-based categories, from data processing to manufacturing. This is the genesis of Laborgistics® and the impetus for a strategic corporate rebranding as IOSInternational Outsourcing Services.
Today, IOS is a truly global company, not only conducting operations around the world, but also leading the outsourcing industry in advancing new management theories and best practices models, all unified by international quality standards: ISO 9001, SAS 70 Level I and II, USFDA, HACCP, U.S. Department of Defense certifications, Homeland Security certifications, and the principles of Six Sigma.
In today's environment of global hypercompetition, the waning of the traditional outsourcing model and increasing reliance on vastly extended supply chains, IOS and Laborgistics promise to bring new dimensions of management solutions to the complexities of worldwide commerce and service sector economics.
