At 7,310 feet (2,228 meters), Kosciuszko is the highest peak in Australia and is therefore one of the seven continental summits. Located in the Snowy Mountain of New South Wales, midway between Sydney and Melbourne, Kosciuszko is a high moorland summit with little mountaineering interest. The access to the mountain is relatively easy and the roundtrip to the summit can be made in one day.
